AXL Software has been in business since 1989 providing custom software on a variety of operating systems including Windows, Netware, Unix, and Linux.

Our experience in Java’s cutting edge solutions to integration is evident in the design of the RADIUS server and client software. In the early days of Java it was clear to us that the RADIUS protocol was more than just a system to configure dialup hardware connections. It could be used to authenticate and configure software and continue to work with technologies in the future. Many of our customers use in mobile-IP and VOIP (voice over IP), something we hadn’t even foreseen when our first client was written.

The first use of a RADIUS client was to authenticate users for a Java POP3 mail server, soon followed by a Java FTP server using the same client. The centralization of authentication and configuration across different operating systems is as useful for software as dialup lines.

This philosophy of portable, centralized control has driven the design of our RADIUS server. It frees you from proprietary back ends and it seamlessly integrates with your existing business choices of database, GUI, hardware and O/S. We know, we’ve moved from Netware and Windows to Linux without changing our core authentication software.
